Well gentlemen, I love this Bulova model as you maybe can tell.

This has a pretty fresh redial, and a really neat 4 faceted crystal.  It was really tarnished, and it actually looks much better not so danged close up.

I believe this to be a verison of the Surgeon, but it almost looks more Blackhawk than Surgeon.

Whatever it is, I love it!

This one will be a keeper and as you can see, his brothers have come to welcome their long lost soldier home!

A great looking watch!  Bulova marketed this two toned Surgeon to members of the Military... renaming it the Blackhawk for a couple of years.

I think this one cleaned up rather nicely and looks to have had a redial to original pretty recently...

Happily that black stuff was all tarnish that came off pretty easily!

Additional Information:

This is the  Bulova Blackhawk is double date stamped with the Circle and the Triangle for 1944-45.

This model was originally thought to be a Bulova Surgeon, but recently found ad's show it to be a military styled watch.  It is quite possible that the Blackhawk and the Surgeon are the same watch with a dial variant as we have found was done with several models in the WWII-era watches, one for civilian and one for military motif.

Identification found here in a 1941 Montgomery Ward Ad for the Blackhawk

(all pictures were taken with the crystal removed for better clarity)
