First one of these for me.  You don't see them much.  Don't know fi that's because they weren't popular or maybe they were rare.  Either or those lyre type lugs look pretty unique.

Additional Information:

I'm trying to positively identify the model of my watch. It looks like a 1941 Director case. But it has gold hands and a cream colored dial. It has an 8AE movement with the symbols for both 1941 and 1942 stamped on it. And for some reason the number of jewels mark has been scratched over. The movement doesn't have a serial number on it. I'll upload more pictures if needed to identify.

Edited 27 Feb 2013 to include to more images.

I am quite sure this watch is a Banker with a dial variant from the ad, its a 17J 6CL movement that seems to be common to the two Bankers that Janet has in the database. The RGP case and back is stamped M7 and the Gold plated Movement is stamped N0 which I thought was weird until I looked at a 67 Diamond Excellency that will follow this one. Case measures 21.1 mm wide, 37mm lug to lug and 17.5 mm between lugs, Black leather strap with White stitching is a Kreisler Calfskin.

I know very little about this watch except I thought it was a Moonbeam, until I could not find it in the pull down menu above. I don't have the skill to remove the back.

Fully working and keeps good time. It has Bulova M0 stamped on the case.

It is difficult to take a nice photograph because of the shape of the crystal. I paid £60 for it, how did I do ?
