Watch Description
1968 Bulova Snorkel "H" # 11406: Stainless Steel Case with diver's "ET" ring around the dial, Stainless Steel Back, & "Block & Ball" Link Bracelet made by J B Champion USA for Bulova. The dial is black with white minute indices & script ( SNORKEL, 666 FEET, AUTOMATIC, & SWISS) on it. The BULOVA script is in white gold. It has green luminous hands & numbers (6, 9, & 12) & hour indices with a magnified date window at the 3 o'clock position with white backround/black date numerals under it. I purchased this new in March of 1969 at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. when I was there in the service. I wore this through basic training and throughout my time in the service. Over the last 47 years the only thing I have ever done to it was to have it cleaned, serviced, and a new crystal installed on it 23 years ago. I quit wearing it daily about 30 years ago and began wearing my Rolex DateJust instead. I still believe the old Snorkel is one of the toughest, most reliable, and good looking wrist- watches ever built! I store it in it's original box with it's receipt, hang tag, and a magazine ad for it that drove me into buying it back then! I take it out from time to time..wind it up and wear it for the day....It still keeps perfect time!
