According to what Stephen and I have figured out so far with this design is it was only named 'PRESIDENT' from 1955 - 1959.
Sometime in 1960 the 17J manual winder became the 'SQUADRON' as the 'PRESIDENT' upgraded to a 23 Jewel auto movement.
The PREZ then received another upgrade in 1964 (?) to 30 J auto (replacing the 'COMMANDER') and then became the 'AMBASSADOR' in '66 ?....
....or something like that.
: )
The first part is clear - the Circular 17J Manual winder with sub Seconds Dial is the 'PRESIDENT' from 1955 - 1959. Most likely due to the new 'thin case' design into which they were able to fit a 23J Automatic Movement in 1960.

And with the near complete LACK OF Bulova ads from the mid to latter 50s (excluding mainly round dial illustrations) the 50s are VERY challenging to date, to ID!
However the "Excellency Series" was apparently outselling the older mainstays after the40s, until 1960???
