Watch Description

This watch was left to me by my mother. I don't know where or who she acquired it from.  It has 14k bulova on the back of the case. The crystal is teardrop shaped and needs replacing. It has small diamonds in each of the links (total 18) and 4 diamonds around the face. It appears to be all one color.

Hi flowergirl2, welcome to myBulova. What a wonderful keepsake you have from your mother, I'm a big fan of family heirloom watches so I think you're very fortunate to have this one, it really is a beauty.

A little confusion on the dates you have. 1949 (A9) is too early a date for this movement, I wonder if you can take another look at that. Is is possible it's M9 (1969)? The 5AT movement dates to the late 1960's so I don't think the movement is 1949. 14 k solid gold Bulovas can be tricky to nail down on manufacture date?

I tried to edit the original post, I can see M7 on it and it can barely be seen in the movement picture.

Thanks. Got it. I entered "none" for the date symbol field, to get rid of the previous 1940;s entry, which is now confirmed as M7.  We don't include symbols past 1949 in that dropdown field, but do place info like the M7 on movement in the comments.

Thank you.  OK I will put that information in the comments from now on.

That is what I tried to do in the edit, I guess I didn't save the edit. I appreciate your help.

Rev Rob (or anyone else) when was the "Icabloc shock resistant" technology first used by Bulova.  I don't remember the exact wording, but the shock resistant jewel system seen on the blance for subject movement.

These solid gold ladies w/ diamonds are tricky.

Ok so the date is good for 1967, I've looked through the adverts and don't see a match. In this era it would most likely have been called La Petite, maybe Lady petite. Beautiful watch, what a treasure to own! For now I'm suggesting an 'Unknown' ID.

Unfortunately, I'm at unknown now too. I looked didn't see and ad for this one.  Does have La Petite charactoristics.  But there's other models w/ solid gold and diamonds in this period too.

I also was unable to find a matching ad and could only go Unknown for the id. It is a lovely looking watch!

Thank you all for your work.  There is one main jewelery store in our area during that time, I have to be at the library next week  so I will start looking at the local paper archives for advertisements when I am there. If I find anything I will surely post it.

Possible Candidates: La Petite, Candlelight, Diamond Goddess.

Alas I too am unable to find a match. Unknown at this stage.
