Crystal fell out of 54' squadron, how to reinstall?

Submitted by alwayscode390 on November 26, 2023 - 4:16pm

I was cleaning my 1954 Squadron and the crystal fell out.  I'm not really feeling glue on the edges, and it doesn't seem like it has a beveled edge to just press it back in.

Figured I'd ask before I end of cracking this thing.  What's it going to take to get it reinstalled... glue... a press ... or just press it back in carefully?

Thanks

It just slid back in from the front.  It seems like glass.  I'm guessing I'll need glue to keep this from randomly popping out again?  Any recommendations?

I'm glad I didn't try to press it in from the back haha ... I figured that's how it would have installed to keep it more secure ---

Look on ebay for ultra-violet watch crystal glue. You won't need much. It cures real fast under an ultra-violet light but if you don't have one you can lay the watch in sunlight for an hour or a little longer to cure it

It would install from the top, as I think you've discovered. Glass will typically require a glue to keep it in place. I have had success using this one.

Sometimes, the plastic types will go in without an adhesive.
