Bulova Monarch

I have an old Bulova watch and can't find any reference to it. The case looks like a 1919 Precision but the back is not hinged and the face just says Bulova. Inside of the back says B.W.C. CO. MONARCH and the serial number is 409284. The movement is engraved with Bulova Watch Co. Four 4 ADJ Fifteen 15 Jewels and a serial number of 289978. Anyone heard of this model?

Can you provide a picture? Have you looked thru the on-site data base?

I searched the database and the photo of the 1919 Precision is very close. It has the same type body and wire strap guides, but it was a woman's watch. She was a nurse in Europe during WWI, so early 1900's seems right for the age of the watch. I will try to post some photos this weekend.

Need to confirm the movement date with a photo of the watch and movement.

The case isn't a true Bulova case, but is from another US watch case company that Bulova prabliy (like many others) used in the early days (pre 1922/23)

B.W.C Co actually stands for Brooklyn Watch Case Co.
