Bulova Watertite Swiss

Hi, can anyone confirm that this is a 1940's watch please, and is the gold plated bezel a bit unusual?

Also it looks like a man's watch but it seems a bit small (28mm) any ideas?

thanks Tony

Hi thanks, i have seen some similar watches on here who's backs don't come off and all the works come out through the front, not too keen on the bit about pulling the winder out... so was hoping to find out roughly, with the watch in one piece...    tony

Sorry Tony, force of habit. When I said take the back off I meant open up your watch to see the movement details.

The first numeral of the Case seriel number indicates the Year of manufacture, if post 1949 the Caseback will be stamped with a capital letter followed by a single digit numeral. (Some 1948 and 1949 Bulova Watch Cases are stamped '48' and '49' respectively).

Several database ads for the 'WATER TITE' mention a Gold Case.

still a bit new to this to be pulling and poking bits in and out so will have to go by similar models and assume it's a 40's ish one...   thanks for the info though..

Is it a chromed or stainless steel case? Only the bezel being gold is unusual, wouldn't you say?
