Caravelle Automatic Set-O-Matic band (n8)

Submitted by ldhunter1959 on August 12, 2013 - 3:49pm

In addition to my 1961 Bulova, I have a Caravelle Set-O-Matic that I like to wear. However, the band has become too tight. I have long ago lost the links that were probably removed. I am unable to determine the numeric model number for the watch so can someone here help me with this?

My suggestion is ebay. There are several sellers who specialize in new old stock watch bands, bracelets and straps, some will even have the Caravelle logo. At least one of those sellers, Scott (timesofplenty) is a member here. It is unlikely you will find links but chances are good that you can find a whole new band that will fit.

do you know how I would find the numeric model number for my watch. I have found some places with bands, but they don't use the "set-o-matic" model, they use a numeric model number.

The same way we ID Bulova watches, through old advertisments. Typically a bracelet/band/strap is sized to the space between the lugs (the place where the band attaches) and is presented in either millimeters or inches. I have not come across anyone selling by maunfacturers original watch model or part number. Find one that looks good to you, buy it, enjoy the watch again.
