Do you measure the crystal on the face or back?

The opening in the watch is whats best if you know the model, otherwise measure the bottom where  it would fit into the case in mm

Measure the widest dimensions top to bottom , side to side on the old crystal with a digital calipers, and then do the same inside the crystal groove on the bezel, write them down, they should be +/- .005mm of each other. Use a average measurment.

If this is the 1955 unknown, it is a Cushion style crystal. let me know the measurements and I will check the 1960 GS catalog that I have.

By Cushion style  do you mean it steps up first or has  sides, because it does.

Cushion style is referring to the shape of the bezel/crystal, Round, Square, Rectangle, Tonneau, Barrel, ect...

Do you have the measurements?

Hereafter's a little ditty I wrote about watch crystals...   http://www.mybulova.com/node/691

Hmmm... 1955 "Ranger," or "Conrad?" With so few 1953- 58 ads for non "round" bezels (and no records!) maybe some day we'll know, for sure???
