Enamel Dialed LONE EAGLE

Submitted by gcoll on November 5, 2012 - 11:40am

I am a new member and most of my vintage wristwatch collection and knowledge is centered on Hamilton and Illinois. I have several Bulova pieces in my collection and my question is about  one of the lone eagles. I have one with the more common luminous dial and hands and one with spade hands with an enamel painted dial. I am curious to know is the enamel dial  a rare version of this model, because I have never seen another like it. The dial has flaked in the lower right hand corner and detracts from the beauty of the piece, and I am contemplating a redial. It has the 9AT  17 jewel movement with a cresant moon symbol, and the patent JAN 11 1927 case with serial number 8182764.

Again I am a new member and will submit a picture as soon as I learn how. thank you for any help or information you can provide.

gcoll  If you can get some pictures similar to those of other watch records (front, back, inside of movement, inside case back, etc) the best way to figure out this watch woudl be by adding as an unknown.
Here's the link to add the watch and pictures.  If you run in to problems getting images to load, let me know.  You can email me the pictures if it gets too troublesome to add.  This may be an important watch to have in the database.  The enamel painted dial sounds "interesting".  You have most of the information to add as a new watch in your comments field above.    Thanks

I was able to post a picture and all additional info on the new unknown watch updates. I will try to take some additional pics and post on site or to your email address.

It is much easier to post pics on this site than I would have expected. thanks glenn

From the details above the watch will be a later 1928 corner-cut LE and not one if the original 5000.
