It doesn't happen to often anymore... but when it does

A guy still feels a little foolish...  I'll go a head an eat crow, just to get the information out there that there's a model or two that are look a like vintage watches.

So I snagged this watch with a couple of crappy pictures.  I've had pretty good odds with crappy picture auctions and gotten some real gems out of it.

I bought it on my phone.  When I looked at it, I thought it was a legit early 1940's men's... with that alt dial.  We've all seen this dial on watches from that era.  I also think there's a watch or two in that era that has these movable lugs.  The watch in that auction looks almost like a Beau Brummel'ish.

Sooooooooo..... it arrives today and I was somewhat excited to see what I got.

So yah... what I got was snookered.  Haha... it's a Bulova alright.  A 1992 Bulova with a little crappy battery powered Hong Kong case.

Bah!  Welp my 10 year old son wanted it.. so now he's got a watch to mess around with.

BTW... it's huge compared to a men's watch of the early 1940's as you can see in the pictures.

I love it.  The watch and the story.  It will be perfect for your son.  ...and although not what we are after, it is 23 years old.....  $5 would have been better than $52 though.

Easy come, easy go big guy. I'd say you've 'won' on a lot more "crappy picture auctions" than you've 'lost' on though.

I have got burned on every watch I've bought from sellers in California. Every single one! Now when I see one from California, I don't care how good it looks or how cheap it seems, I just pass over it.
