Late 1928 Lone Eagle ads

Submitted by jasonknoxphotography on June 10, 2013 - 1:11am

Just came across these 2 ads that except for the Jewelers names at the bottom they are exactly the same.

The ad states The "Lone Eagle" watch Lindbergh used is only $50.

If these ads were written by Bulova for jewelers to use to sell the Lone Eagle it would help to confirm that Lindbergh was given the pre Lone Eagle "Conqueror" before flight.

Nice find Jason,

Send them in full resolution to admin@mybulova .com so Steve can post them in the ad section.

If you can find out the newspaper ad date, that is a plus..

Excellent new adverts and backup the statement made by Mr Taub that a number of potentials were each given a Bulova watch pre flight. Now the one million dollar quesion...did CAL wear it on his historic flight?

Jason, how did you come across these adverts?

Thanks William,

A question to all,

If Bulova gave these pilots the same watch as Lindy then their could be photos of them wearing their Bulovas.

They should in theory have the Conqueror on their wrists.

Thoughts?

They were probably given heaps of corporate gifts, question is did they actual use them :-)

Let's hope that CAL did use his on the flight like so many have suggested.
