my bulova keeps stopping but if you tap it gentley it works again , can you tell me what is wrong

Actually looking at the movement above it seems to have a nice strong beat. Does it stop dial up or down?

Is there any amount of lateral shake on the balance wheel (is up/down movement)?

May be either the staff of hairspring.
