can anyone give me information about this watch?  i'm not sure what year it is.  i haven't been able to find any other kind of Bulova that has the "6" below the second dial.  any information you can give me would be appreciated.

Hi and welcome to mybulova.com!

Your watch is more a 1932 than a 42', and looks a lot like an Ambassador with the stepped case and engraving around the crystal.

A 15 Jewel movement was used on the Ambassador & Senators in the early 30's.

I will have to take a look in the ad database and known models to see if I can find one that looks like yours.

Looks like I need glasses, I missed that one in the ad's, I was looking for case shape and the Ambassador 15J came to mind.

Good one Jerin

thanks a lot for all the info!  I took a look at the ad, and it is a close match for the one I have.  this was my grandfather's and looking to get it restored if possible.

No problem Greg... the only reason I recognized it so readily is that's what I was looking for when I found this site.  My grandfathers watch I was hunting down info for was a 1940 Ranger... this exact watch with a name change.

Incidentially Pye621.... the original band in your grandfathers watch has a leather insert.  It's found here:
