NOS Watch Dials - ID and For Sale

Submitted by stoddrob on March 19, 2012 - 4:40pm

I have about a dozen of these NOS watch dials. They measure 24.4mm long and 20.8mm wide. They would go with an "MT" style bezel and crystal. Probably from the 1940's by the look of the numbering. Does anyone have an idea which watch movement they should go with? Feet are at 10:30 and 4:15. Reaaly nice pieces...came in original packaging. One I determine what model (s) they might fit, I would offer them up first to MyBulova.Com Members before selling them on Ebay. First come, first served after ID. Since a refinsihed dial costs at a minium of $30 (probably more for these with the raised gold numbering), and can take three months (I'm STILL waiting for my order I sent to IDC back in early January as well as a re-do I sent in last Fall and returned in December!), I'm asking $30 each including shipping. Why have a dial refinished when you can get a pristine original? First person to ID it get's 50% off if they even want one! Limit two per member....let's pass them arround! Rob

Hi Rob

I noticed you had this listed in other questions or other information forum.  They are nice dials, but may be better posted in the watch parts trade forum.  Thanks Will

That dial is for a 48 senator with draped lugs and fits the 8AD movement. I have two of them and one is posted on the site.

Sorry I take it back. I didn't notice it doesn't have the hidden 6 at the bottom.

If a fit can be found, a match made, etc... this is better than a redial job.

Ah ha, I new I had a watch the uses that dial!!!  It is definitely a 1946 Officer dial and fits a 10BA movement. There is one posted on the site that I own and it was awarded 3 stars.

Nyet...close....but the second hand field on the dial on the Officer drops into and even below the track...this one is slightly above the track. I'm thinking maybe an Alderman?

No, not an Alderman. Best Guess: Arnold. Maybe would fit other simiar 10BC movement, but it matches to the Arnold almost perfectly!

Rob, I have a 10AK with the same dial except it measures 24.6x21.1 with a digital caliper. Though I haven't pulled the dial, the feet appear to be at the same position as yours.

I think the watch is a '45 Alexander and  will be adding it to the db soon.

I don't have a digital micrometer so i could be slightly off. I ordered one and it was delivered in a package I didn't realize was ripped and when I got home it was empty! USPS would do nothing, nor would the seller so i gave up for now on buying one! I was just going to say it looks like it would also fit the Alexander and Gelden models 10BC from 1945ish. In any case, I think your input qualifies for a discount Darren if you want one! I'm sure this dial would fit several models, but in terms of exactness, it matches the Arnold and I think Alexander to a "T." PM me if anyone wants one. I might also have some NOS10BC GM hands to go with it if wanted as well. Let me know...we'll discuss price via PM. Rob

The only difference I see with yours is the seconds track. Yours has exploding numbers and mine has no numbers like the alexander in the ad. I appreciate the offer but I'll pass due to the seconds track. Thanks.

Hello Rob

I have "Arnold" 10bc 15 jewels and I think it's fit on.

I will be glad to buy from you one of a Dial.

How we do that?

Thank you  and  have a nice day.
