Ruxton Vs Moonbeam?

 Hi All

Just an observation but I believe the Ruxton model c1951 ish or earlier was renamed the Moonbeam. I know this model was made up until at least 1964 (as I have had one) and the crystal is pretty unique (pointed centre).

At least they are the exact same dimensions on crystals, only one has 4 angles. The dial on my 1960 model also has pointed batons and numbers unlike the earlier model which was dots and numbers. The glass crystal looks original and messed up but again this is pointed with the angles.

So any idea 1;) if it was a name change and  2:) when this happened? My guess would be around the late 1950's early 60's. "Moonbeam" does sound very hippy like which would go with this I guess.....

Sounds like a pretty viable theory worth digging into. I've always wondered myself.

I wonder if the Batyons have anything to do with the "beam" part too. Now for that conclusive advert! Where are you!
