Traded in watches

What did Bulova do with watches they accepted for trade in on new watches? We're they returned to the factory for refurbishment, or was the seller who accepted the trade stuck with them. Would this be akin to trading in your used car, by this i mean, if someone trades a great low mileage car, then the dealer resells it and profits, if the car was someone's beater then it's off to the auction.

Gary, check out this thread.   http://www.mybulova.com/node/5012

There are other threads that show what happens to old Bullys, you have to look though!

Some ads here have clues to some watches known as "rebuilts", if you go to the last ad on page one, then look at the first few ads on page two.  http://www.mybulova.com/node/5054

I have acquired a rebuild kit for the 10BP and it comes with the case in SS and the dial and hands. The dial is marked Rebuilt. I bought 2 10BP movements NOS from the factory and will be putting one of them in this rebuild kit. I will post it as soon as I have it put together.

John, does the rebuild kit have a Bulova case?

Yes it is a Bulova case from the sixties and is NOS from the Bulova watch maker who is selling out some of his inventory since he closed his material house which he had for 50 years.
