UV Adhesive

Could someone tell me if a 36w UV fingernail curer would work on crystal replacement?

Do you mean to fix cracked or scratched crystals?? If so, I don't think so. It would probably cause a melting distortion if it is what I think it is. The problem with repairing polymers is that any thing that would rebond or reseal a polymer will have a tendency to cause distortion due to the reformation of the polymers in the crystal.

I think Gerard means to cure UV adhesives, used for affixing "cyclops" eyes in place, or date enlarger lenses as they are also known.
The only real way to find out if it works is to try it, Gerard. If you are thinking of buying a curer, try asking at a nail salon if they might help with a test.

Yes that is what I was trying to say. I guess it was a bit unclear. The Manicure type lights aren't that expensive really they start around $20. The worry I had was if they would produce enough UV light to activate the adhesive. They activate the nail products so I think Ill give it a shot and Ill let you know how it works. I did see some ads for a new LED activated adhesive, not sure about that one at all.Well thank you for your time guys.

You might still want to try the nail studio first, they will have a more powerful UV bulb than the cheap option, and if you only have to pay a couple of dollars to try it, I can't think it would hurt.
