Watch Stopage When Hands Instaled

check the cannon pinion and (4th?) wheel, the movement may be running but not carrying the Hands.

Yes I can see it stop, it will run for a bit then stop but only when the hands are put on.

Binding hands is a common problem, they can bind with each other, or they can bind with the dial if it is not centred perfectly over the holes. The small sub second hand can bind in its hole as well, and may even be tipped and be touching the dial unnoticed. The minute hand can also touch the crystal and stop the watch. 

When installing hands, it is best to then turn them with the crown throughout a 12 hour cycle, to see that they do not touch each other.  Also, do not forget the dial washer, that shiny curved bit of brass foil that keeps the hour wheel against the dialside. Without it, the hour wheel will disengage with the minute wheel, and possibly jam or fall and wobble.  Handsetting is a curious skill that comes with practise, and on these old watches the hands have been pulled many times. You can use hand held hand pushers, or a pusher jig with three pushers in a vertical frame. You can get these from O.Frei.
