A really fantastic watch, with great patina on the dial.  You can't fake that... so cool looking.

I believe this is the "His Excellency JJ" model.  Movement dates to 1946 and the case to 1948... so I think in this instance we go with the case.

An extrememly nice vintage  red and blue enameled Uniflex 1/20 10k gold plated expansion bracelent comes with it.

I've always loved this bottle cap type case.

Recently acquired this from a gentlemen here in Australia. This was his fathers watch.

The band is all original with a great marking on the underside showing it to be an 'American Standard' product with the original shield logo as used in the Bulova's early watches from the 1920s.

Hi Guys, hopefully this one will be easier that others I have posted.  I think this to be a 1949 His Excellency xx.  I found this one at what is now going to be my favorite antique shop for $49.00.  It is fully functional in the over 34 hours I had it on the original wind and is keeping perfect time.  It appears to have been recently serviced, the keyless works is smooth and after a little clean up I think this is going to be my daily driver for awhile. The case denotes 10k gold filled and A9 stamp.  I'm not sure if this is the original band but it cleaned up well and looks sharp I think.  As always, I appreciate your thoughts and time you put into this. Cheers ~ Rick

I belive this to be a 1960 His Exelency. 10K rolled gold plate case. I found the watch on Ebay, bought it well under going rate. I have not opened it since I don't know how to open a top opening watch. Keeps good time, but should be serviced most likely. Gains about a minute a week. The case is marked M0 on the back.

This is a sentimental watch for me.  It was the very first vintage watch I ever bought.  $0.25 in a thrift store in RI.  It is a 1949 10KT Yellow Gold Filled Bulova.  Scalloped design in between arched lugs.  Flat dial with gold applied hour markers.  Most likely the His Excellency "YY".  Unfortunately the dial is toast.  My fault when cleaning it.  Young and stupid.

I believe this to be a 1948 His Excellency "UU" based on available reference material on this site. The supporting advert is from a March 1948 newspaper in Pennsylvania.

This example suggests the watch was well worn and probably well loved by the previous owner having wear to the case and expansion band, wear through at the corners of the caseback and four to five jeweler's marks inside the caseback.

I confirmed the watch will wind and run; however, complete servicing is pending. The blued hands can be turned counterclockwise, but attempts to turn the hands clockwise resulted in the stem becoming loose and would probably come free from the movement.

The crystal has a convex profile. The supporting advert as do most others reflect a pitched profile.

Signed Bulova: dial, caseback outside and inside, movement.

The unsigned crown measures 5.33mm (digital caliper).
