Hello,  I picked up this watch because I love the original band.  It has a 10K rolled gold plate bezel and stainless back.  I love the patina on the dial.  I think it is the Senator "D".  This is my first mens watch of this style and I really love it.  Let me know what you think : )

I was sent these pics with info on this watch, it is an interesting example.

Inside the case it is marked 'Germany' and 'US Zone', which leads me to believe it may have been sold to US servicemen serving in West Germany. The casemaker is Robert Pfisterer of Pforzheim, Germany, so this was possibly cased in Germany for the German market, specifically US miltary personnel. It carries the usual import code on the movt, which means it was imported and modded as per usual by Bulova USA. The case appears to be chromium plated with a stainless steel back.

After that, it appears to have been cased in Germany and sold there.

I could have sworn we had an example of this somewhere, but I can't locate it.

It looks like a Senator, but what say you all?

1940 Senator. Spotless silver dial with gold numbers and hands. Today's flea market score that appears to have seen little wear. Band is a  early 60's replacement I added to test drive it, as the original band was in pieces. It actually looked like it got hooked on something while being worn and snapped. A pity because it had literally no plating wear. A proper ad appropriate band is on my wish list. Keeping time.

Additional Information:

1963 Senator "G". Movement and case dated M3. Yelow gold plate with stainless back. It appears that at sometime in the past, a well intentioned but toxic face cleaning ruined the finish and stripped off "Bulova". Tiny dots of the original word are still visible. Band is a replacement. Runs well and keeps time. Case is square, but face and crystal shape give the illusion that it is rectangular.

Unable to locate an ad with what appears to be a Senator case and this dial (two tone with Roman numerals). There is a 1940 Senator of similar or like description in the database;

Movement date code is an asterisk, although perhaps hard to distinguish. A close-up is available.

10K Rolled Gold Plate, Stainless Steel Back;

Signed Bulova: Dial, movement, inside case back;

Unsigned crown measured: 5.25mm (digital caliper);

The crystal is perhaps a replacement given the height and noticeable gaps in at least two corners.

Nice running watch has a mirror finish movement. Case has 2 steps on each side and to me most closely resembles a Senator, but with rope-like engraving on crystal sides like an Alexander. 17 jewel movement dated 1937 (arrow) which matches s/n as 1937. Case measures 25.5mm x 28.4mm not counting crown and lugs. Super clean with only the slightest hint of wear on tops of lugs. Same period new old stock band added by me.
