Bulova Watch Time

Here is an interesting tidbit that you may have never noticed.

Vintage Bulova watch ads from 1925 to 1938 always showed the time as10:35

Vintage Bulova watch ads post 1938  usually showed the time as 8:17 (there are some exceptions)

Yes I find that interesting Stephen but I think it's even more interesting that you would know that!!!  :)

 I've heard that most watches are shown or photographed at 10:10

I think you will find that Hamilton set their watches for 10:12, American Waltham seems to be 7:20,  Elgin set theirs at 8:18 and Gruen used 8:17. The whole idea was to allow as much of the face of the watch to be seen without covering signatures or sub dials.
