There's a sort of 'Gentlemens agreement' amongst members not to post eBay items, for numerous reasons.

No Problem, I seen a couple other post for ebay ads, and then I seen the box, and I thought someone here could use it.

Thanks for the update, I wont do it again. Still learning how this place works.   Mike...

Not a big deal Mike.... I think if you look back in general discussion a few weeks ago we sort of chatted the subject up a bit.

The consensus was that we didn't want to let the site slowly slide into a big advertisement for the auctions or to have sellers pushing their items on the sly or whatever.  Hadn't really been a problem but somewhat of a inch to a mile type thing we didn't want to have to deal with in the future.

Also I think another aspect was that if a guy put work in tracking down good deal auctions and was waiting to pounce on his good deal... and then someone else found and posted it to all these collectors it was somewhat unfair to the guy doing the initial stalking/work into finding a good deal for himself.

Anyway... again not a big deal.

I for one am pretty stoked to have you and other watchmakers on here.... I'm betting your going to be a HUGE contributor for facts... parts... all that good stuff.

Welcome aboard!

Cheers Plains, perfectly explained!

I'm certainly happy to see eBay ads on here POST auction. This not only shows us what we missed (so we can cry ourselves to sleep at night), but it also shows what the going price for particular model is.

5th, a 'Gentlemens agreement'. I like it.

Some of the most seasoned eBay Snipers in the World stalk these boards, if it's of interest they're already watching it..

; )

admin,

I still say a Watches value can't be judged by a final price on an online auction where prices sometimes swing hundreds of dollars on identical models.Too many variables IMO.

The box looks like the LEII version?

I totally agree, but if someone wants some idea of how much their vintage Bulova watch is going for, eBay is a good starting point.

Yes there are many factors to take into consideration, but at least they can gauge were their timepiece sits in comparison.

I'm not say that ebay is a diffinitive price guide by any stretch of the imagination, but it is IMO a good starting point.

I get at least a dozen emails a week asking me how much a watch is worth. If they did a little research on ebay and found one similar they'd at least get some idea.

Value = what the sller is willing to take versus what the buyer is willing to give.

oh and welcome to those eBay snipers....we know your watching!
