Trying to descerne the differences, if any between the 'CONQUEROR' and the 'TROJAN'.

Year of manufacture? case engraving? 15J vs 17J ? as both very similar.

Also there is a Black enameled version of this case dated 1929.

I read the serial number on the above movement as 261973.

This ad shows the black enamel cased Cyrano. It has the same engraving as the Tojan & Conqueror.

Where are you getting a 17 jewel movement for these watches? All of the ads indicate 15J!

These kinds of entries lead to confusion, questions and doubt>>>>>>(+?) 15 Jewel, 10AN movement

Yes I have one with the black enameling on the case movement no 472204 I just recently had the watch serviced the stem was broken bought the watch 40years ago in a old antique shop neat old watch

If You're referring to the original post the Jewel count was posed in question form - Reading the entire question:

Indicating that I am trying to grasp how the difference is told between the 'CONQUEROR' and the 'TROJAN' - if both use the 15 Jewel 10AN then You have answerd part of the question being No, the difference cannot be determined by Jewel count.

I'm aware of the 'CYRANO' as I am the one who initiated the a (after swiping it from Scott and editing)

No confusion but back to the question:

How do We tell the difference between the 'TROJAN' and the 'CONQUEROR'?

Makes sense admin,

If the cut corner case named 'CONQUEROR' became the 'LONE EAGLE' in 1928 anything in this Circular case dated post 1928 would become the 'CONQUEROR' -  dated prior to 1928 would be the 'TROJAN'.

I have this sentence below in Aditional Information for my Conqueror:

"Known as the Trojan prior to the introduction of the Lone Eagle series I in 1927"

Prior to the intro of the Lone Eagle, the Conqueror was corner-cut. This should work for practicality sake, so that you don't have two different watches named Conqueror at the same time.

I was refering to this entry at the top by Scott "(+?) 15 Jewel"

So is this the Cryano?  Maybe the enamel just wore off.
