I have no clue...

This was advertised as a vintage ladies watch... I don't think it is.  I'm thinking some sort of men's early to mid-30's?  What do we have here?  Pictures will be followed by original posting description.

This excerpt from a 1935 ad showing the Lady Lindy was provided by Wayne when we discussed my Treasurer.

Close but if you look at the bottom and top of the bezel it has the ribbing there as well.  Plus it looks a little bigger?  Though I don't have it in my hand... it could be tiny.

Check the 1935 ads.  In the last one, there's a watch on the bottom left, the Breton, that seems to be it, right down to the scalloped edge and trapezoidal bracelet end.  White dial, though.

I was just getting ready to post a pic of the Breton.  Here it is:

Are you sure that's not just engraving on the case rather than scallops?

Also, look at the spacing of the word "Bulova" in relation to the numbers.  Plains' watch would appear to be narrower.  Also, I don't see any scallops or grooves on the ends of the case in the Breton picture.

Besides the Breton, I believe the other options for that case and dial style in a men's model are the President, the Phantom, and the Treasurer.  I don't think we've uncovered any of those with a scalloped edge.

Yeah, now that you enlarged the Breton, I'm less convinced.  Still, I  believe it's a mens watch, not a ladies.  A lot of folks can't fathom just how small mens watches were back then.  I can't count how many times I've seen Ebay listings for  "Lord Elgin Ladies Watch"!

I'm thinking right now maybe the Brenton is the front runner.  We'll know a little better when I get it with the date and movement.  Could be etching.. I don't know.  Obviously going to need a redial.

Hard to tell from the picts, but it does look like a ladies watch, the bracelet clasp looks a lot larger than the actual case, and it looks more like scallops than engraving. It has to be very narrow if they had to allow space for "Bulova" in between the 2 & 10 markers.

One of them suprise watches!

Yeah Greg looking at it again... the hands look awfully small.
