Hi

I just got this watch and would appreciate help identifying it.

Thanks

Any markings on the back of the case?  Looks like it may be an aftermarket case.

I've seen this model before in one of the 1930s ads I'm sure. Does the case have any marking either on the inside or the back?

Commentator dial, but case does not quite match.

Scrap the Commentator...that came in 15J only.

The bezel is marked 10K Rolled Gold Plate and the inside of the case back reads base Metal Stainless. Also the crystal measures appx. 25.56mm X 16.02MM.

Tony,

Is the case back marked Bulova on it or just 10K RGP & Stainless?

No Bulova on case back. The case back has a section that is gold plated. It looks like two pieces. Also, the case back has a  slight curvature to it.

Looks like someone stuck a Bulova movement in a different case, or also known as a "Frankenbully".

The movement and dial look good, now all you have to do is find the correct case for it and you will have a real Bulova.

Frankenbully. Dial certainly doesn't fit case. original dial would have a 6 sided minute chapter, not rectangular. The case looks inferior quality as opposed to bulova's in my humble opinion.

Thanks all for the comments. I wanted to use the movement for cleaning practice. Now I have a fine running $9.99 10AE movement.
