Bulova Revere

This should end a lot of speculation: 'REVERE'

15J 10AN

Sorry about the crappy pic Boys and Girls, it's all they had.

* I do not own this Watch but will add to the database if it doesn't show in the next couple of Days

I picked up that one and will get some better pics once it arrives.

Well, here it is.  Unfortunately, the seconds had bit the dust somewhere along the way.

10AN, 15 J, 1930, serial number 690606

Bulova signed hinged case with dust cover, serial number 0100276, 1927 patent

Uh oh, do we have a dispute here?

What about the Revere ad that Fifth posted above.

It seems that I'm coming in late to a debate that has been going on for a while.  Please, someone fill me in.

I made a mistake, nice Revere!

Thanks for clarifying, Wayne.

So, if this is a Revere, then what are all those watches in the database that are currently IDd as 1928 and 1930 Reveres--the ones with the sort of fish like engraving?

Obviously not 'REVERE's as once assumed.

Nice find Lisa.

If Your Watch has Glass the Seconds hand should be in the case, if not check the packaging.

If You need a new/correct let Me know.

So there were two different engraving patterns for the Revere?  Do you have an ad that shows the fish pattern as the Revere?

I have one with the fish pattern also and would like to know what it is, but, given the ad for the Revere, I don't see how it can be that.

I never had a problem naming my watch a Revere. Careful matching of the shape of the watch to the drawing & engraving pattern in the ad indicates to me that watch is a Revere.  The shape of the watch & engraving does not match any other shape Bulova watch or ad that is available on-site.

If you have any evidence that the subject watch is not a Revere, please present it.

Honestly, to me, the engraving on your watch doesn't look like it matches the ad for the Revere.  Where you have fish like shapes, the ad has very straight arrow-head shapes.  I know that the size and overall case shape match, but it is conceivable that Bulova produced the same case with different engraving and called it something else, and we just don't yet have the ad that shows the variation.

I changed mine to an "Unknown" based on not having a matching ad, especially now that we have an actual watch that does match the ad for the Revere.

"now that we have an actual watch that does match the ad for the Revere."

Where can I locate that watch?

I was referring to the one that started this post, which is the same one that I later in this thread posted additional pics of.  The pics aren't great, and I can try to get better ones, but it does have the straight arrow-head design rather than the fishy design.  If you want, I can post pics of my "fishy" model next to this one to show the difference.

Here are the two side-by-side:

Lisa

I have seen the arrows and they are yours. I humbly beg your pardon. I am wrong! I honestly didn't see the difference here in this post. I saw the difference in this relatively new ad with the watches side by side. Thank you for your diligence & comparative analysis skills. I will humbly change my mis-named Revere to UNKNOWN. Like my daddy always told me "Son, ya gotta be able to seperate the fly sh_t from the pepper".

Wayne -- I'm sure I would like your daddy.

No pardon required.  I never mind being asked to prove my point.   Thanks for maintaining an open mind.
