The 1929 Benrus Lone Eagle II....

Submitted by plainsmen on April 25, 2011 - 11:11pm

Haha... well.. here's how I found it.  I obviously saw the case and thought... errr... what's up with the dial?!  It was pretty cheap so I snagged it a couple weeks ago.  I was hoping and was happy to find a beautiful '29 Square Shield stamp on a sweet ol' 10AN movment in the Bulova stamped case!

So... here' s my Benrus Lone Eagle....   I'm thinking what happened to the crystal is the super Bulova collector got mucho pissed when he got his sweet Lone Eagle II back from the watchmaker to find his buddies played a fantastic joke on him and had it re-dialed Benrus!! HAHAHAH!!  He got mad and smashed his watch on the counter!! hahahahah!!!

I'm going to redial it back to Boluva one of these days!  Case and movement are in stellar shape btw... and that dial actually looks pretty good... just needs a new paint job.

Good case, Good hands, Good movement, $40 for International Dial, $10 for glass, and some for Mike to put it all together in top running condition....

Find a nice period band = Nice Find!

That's a horological sacraledge or sumpin!  But the dial is easy read! LOL

I hope so?

Regarding the LE II: I may need to swap- out that (non 20s?) crown, however? The relumed dial and hands turned out nice... (Much better than that lameo image!) It seems to want a 15mm band/strap? I will have to either downsize a 16mm or buy another one, as the only ones I have left here... are all .5mm+ too large!

Your's has a cleaner case, BTW!
