Well, now you know where to get a new bezel for your Berkshire or Piping rock look-a-likes.

No doubt this will muddy the waters some.

Very  much doubt the backs will fit the old movements though as these have some cruddy small jap movement in.

Notice, though, that although they are making an Air King copy, they have avoided stepping into the murky waters of naming it....

They didn't name any of the watches or even the brand.

brings up an interesting issue.

When We are out there pursing the 'unknown' Bulova it's always possible that a Bezel has been switched and it is not original.

The Bezel is the part of the Case unidentifiable by a stamp.

Oh, yeah, that makes sense. . . and all of us who have the BERKSHIRE and AIR KING just happened to also get ones with fake bezels (nicely antiqued, of course). . .and all those we see on eBay, etc. are fake too--both the lady's and men's models.  Yeah, that explains it!  Maybe, in fact, all our watches are fake, and we should just throw out the entire database and go home.

What are You talking about?

ANY vintage 'unknown' Bulova has the potential to be a bezel swap.

get a grip.

What you are saying is that any Bulova--not just any "unknown"--has the potential to be a bezel swap.

In fact, I just took a look at your watch collection, and I think you probably have a number of bezel swaps in there.  That would explain why there's no ad or other evidence to support the ID.  Better take another look.

Fifth, You are way too cynical.

Anyone who's been collecting should be able to tell the difference between GF/RGP versus today's cheap electroplated crap. It is also very unlikely that this company cast their moulds from original cases and therefore would not fit an original caseback. I also think that it is very unlikely anyone could be bothered to go to such lengths.

Perhaps your the one who needs to get a grip!

What you say about telling the difference between GF/RGP and cheap electroplate is especially true given that the website says the plating is 'several microns thick'.  I imagine that would wear off PDQ.

Another point would be, as you say, there's no reason at all why the bezels should fit the old casebacks.  When Hamilton - which has the original design specifications! - has made remakes of the Ventura, the Flight, and other iconic models, they have never simply made the same cases.  The pieces are not interchangeable.  Since these are being made by an entirely different company, there's even less reason to expect the pieces to be the same.

Hey, this company is about 15 minutes from me........ You guys want me to go beat them up????? Just remember "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery", but I'll still go beat them up if you want  ;-)

Welp.. maybe you could threaten to beat them up.. but ask them this...

So their either the rights to those watch designes as defaulted or they bought them from Bulova.

I guess my question to them would be... if they bought them from Bulova it may say what each of those models was called by Bulova?  Maybe some paperwork they'd let you look at about the each model.... year... name... what have you?

If they won't tell you... then beat them up!  If your just gonna "persuade" them to talk a bit....  start with some punches to the guts... unless you rupture something on them... you can pack a pretty good wallop without leaving a mark.  And I dunno anyone likes a good punch to the guts....  = o

Well, there is a connection here, as loose as it might be;  the Circa watches have Miyota movements.

Miyota is the movement division of Citizen=Citizen/Bulova partnership.  Yeah, I know, grasping at straws.
