1961 (M1) Bulova

Submitted by bailes23 on August 14, 2011 - 9:58pm

Hi All,

Probably a common story - I inherited this watch off my late Grandfather and wanted to know a bit more about it.  From what I can see from the code on back its a 1961 model (M1). Searching for other 61 models I haven't found any the same yet?

Any info available?

Cheers,

Dean

Any info available? Anyone got a similar one?

I would love to know a bit more about it as my Grandfather loved this watch and wore it every day! Will definately be keeping it regardless of condition etc.

Since getting this and researching online I've found a new interest in watches that I never though I would have. So much history in brands like Bulova! Good work with this site!

Is it possible for you to take this to a watchmaker and get it opened up for data on the movement? Most will do this for free or a very nominal fee...

The case lugs and dial numbers are certainly distinctive so we should be able to ID this one.

Seller of this watch claims it to be a Clipper.

Stephen I have a feeling something funny going on with that ad. Did you just put that ad in?

A vintage ad and a matching N.O.S!

There's no doubt it's the 'SEA KING', which has shown to be one of the more confusing models.
