You were thinking that You reeeally wanted a 'BUCKINGHAM' Geoff?

: )

Issues came to My mind, where do You find a movement block to fit the Case and which movement did the Buck use? Both deal breakers.

Thought about that all week actually. Once the case back photo appeared I at least knew the mvt was round. I assumed (yes, I know) that a 10 A or AN or 9A would fit. We know from our one ad that it was a 17J but the case pat date (1924) and open 9 led me toward a '25 or '26 dated mvt as opposed to the 1929 date of the ad. Let's face it, we really have no sure way to prove that very many of our watches have the original movement in the case. We have faith that they do. And I believe (have faith that) I would like to have that case.

Dealbreaker?......well it is what I would call moderately rare piece and felt it would be fun to own (possess might be a better word).

I just wonder how many are jumping out of what Wayne calls 'sock drawers' as I type.

I didn't see the Caseback pic, once it reached a certain Dollar amount I stopped watching. Sounds like the 'BUCKINGHAM' was an early 'set back' design and a movement block was not used? The measurement of the opening would give the linge used, 9 or 10 so maybe I was over thinking the whole ordeal...

Let's pray for several more to appear Geoff, the 'BUCKINGHAM' is a great piece..

...but you told him you would be out of town blah, blah, blah and now here you are?

So big guy - WHERE ARE YOU?  WHERE WERE YOU? What did YOU snipe on this fella?

Now that everyone knows that you offer $50, we're all going to start offering $51.

Super scammer is that plainsman rascal, super duper scammer is that dude!

Ain't this watch collecting thing fun?

Haha... I am out of town!  Oh and yeah... I don't always offer the same.  In this instance I figured the guy either knew what he had or didn't... if he did I probably could have offered $100 and he'd have told me no... and if he didn't.. well.. *shrugs*

He did though... he told me he had been selling watches for 25 years and this is the first one that's gone through him.  Uber nice guy though... very cordial.

I was wondering how many of us would see that Buck come through... I haven't seen another like it in over a year.
