Did Anyone Else See The Cadet - Like New - In Original Box? Ca. 1949

If you know the one, I bought it. Probably paid too much, but I could not resist a Cadet in this condition in original box.

Since the auction is over, I guess it will be OK to post a link? Correct?

Beautiful specimen Unknowingly you have activated the Cadet Sock Drawer Syndrome. I just found two of them in the winter section LOL!

I never knew about Goodwill selling watches. Thanks

Ready, set, go..... as we all sign up to bid on shopgoodwill.com.  No more deals.  Now we call all bid against each other. Just like on EBay.

Yep, I knew when I added the link it would activate a flurry of activity. I have been buying from them for a LONG time and have found some great deals, but much care is needed. The listers are not watch people and at times the info is nothing close to the watch. Some good can be found and much bad, but most here are expert shoppers.

Imagine this...Only a small percentage of GW stores are involved with this auction. Most of the bigger metro areas just toss the good in with the bad and ship them off to the stores for resale never knowing what they have. If you have a GW store in your area go in and ask to see the stock box of watches. That is the box behind the counter that they use to restock the watch tree on the counter. You can find a few treasures for $1.59.

However, I can't buy them all and I think these old watches need to be preserved before the scrappers melt them all for the gold content. So, in my own twisted way of reasoning I feel that revealing my secret is doing everyone that likes vintage watches/jewelry a favor.

If I see a treasure, though, I will notify you guys and I expect you to lay off my bids!

Thanks,

AL
