Military style Bulova watch

Submitted by el tel on October 5, 2011 - 12:02pm

Just purchased this on ebay  and awaiting delivery , it was referred to as a military style watch , has bulova markings on back of watch and a bulova strap. Model number 96G53 with a japanese MIYOTA movement. Did not pay very much for it so not too concerned if it is not genuine.  Any comments ?

Bulova does use tha Japanese Miyota movement in modern quartz models, so an e-mail with model number to them would be your best bet for info.

Thanks for the responses , my main concern was the watch movement so it is reassuring to hear that the Miyota movement is used in modern day Bulova watches . Now its a case of identifying the model name. :-)

Fifth Avenue , thanks for the google tip , referred to as a sports watch which I feel is more appropriate than a military watch.

You're welcome Terry, You'll see that Citizen is noted for using the Miyota movement, Citizen now the owner of Bulova Watch Co.

Here's a thought which crossed My mind last night.

IF the old Bulova records were lost where are they getting the ideas for the all the retro, vintage and antique looking designs they are producing today?.....here at mybulova.com ?

food for thought.
