Submitted by guysha on November 3, 2011 - 10:40am

I'm trying to estimate the value of my Bulova watch, or at least to find out its model.
can you help ?
here it is.
The front side says: Bulova Automatic
In the movement it says:

LWD 283
Forty 40 jewels unadjuted
Swiss
Boluva 404
and the back of the case cover says:
823117

Thanks for your help

We don't do valuations here. Your best bet is to check Collectors Weekly. Look for a watch like yours & track what like items sell for. Click on the Watch Links tab at the top of this page & click on Collectors Weekly.

Nice watch. How much did you pay for it?

That is the Movement Caliber... I don't think BULOVA named these later Model Chronos.

I have never seen a watch exactly like yours before. Nice watch & excellent movement. Keep your eye out for comparables on eBay & specifically Collectors Weekly. 20 years is young for a watch on this venue.

Bulova themselves could give you information. http://www.bulova.com/en_us

This would also be my recommendation as this wartch is still relatively new. Bulova should still have records as to its model.

Value = what you are willing to sell it for versus what someone is willing to buy it for.

There is no such thing as 'retail' value on second hand items and this includes watches. Some watches are more highly sort after than others, but this would not neccessarily be one of them.

A nice looking chrono all the same and worth a few bob.

The color on that bezel doesnt look like modern-ish plate (not bright yellow enough) to me..is it possible that its solid?? High end auto mvmnt and all would warrant some embelishment...very nice watch...would love to see one for sale somewhere...

As Wayne said, contacting Bulova direct and giving them the info on the watch is your best bet, most watches this new had no name, but usually a model # and was part of a series like the Marine Star. They should have records if it is only 20 years old.

Look on eBay and compare it to similar watches that have sold, that will give you an idea of its value.
