Rhodium plating

I, as many do have some deco era 'bright finish' Cases showing wear on the high spots. Research has found that this finish is Rhodium over the base metal of the Case.

Q's: has anyone had a Case replated with Rhodium, who did it and how satisfied with the results were You?

Some quotes out there on the net for Watch Cases are around $35 which I think is very reasonable considering.

I have been looking at the platers on the market, it looks simple enough, preping the case would be the important part...and spending $2000 for the machine & supplies would rate right up there!

Any local jeweller should be able to plate your case in Rhodium, but I understood that a lot of these cases were nickel plated.

Hey Fifth,

I've tried a 1/2 dozen re-platers and have never neen happy with the results until I found a guy in Montreal,Quebec. I had this case done for Wayne cause it was nasty.

Rhodium has a far more luxurious finish than any other white case I've ever seen. It runs neck and neck to NOS white gold filled and I'd do rhodium over chrome, nickel or white gold any day. Problem here is poor turnaround time and customer service if your enquiring about an item sent in months ago. I guess they don't like onesies. Cost is usually $35- $45.00 cdn. If you want the contact info, PM me.
