Bulova in History once again.
Below is an interesting and informative read involving the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour in 1941, a survivor of that attack and His (American Eagle) Bulova Watch.

Another interesting observation, yesterday the military channel was showing "Tora, Tora, Tora" which was done originally as a documentary/movie and there is a scene right when the attacks began and one of the actors glanced at his watch. It looked familiar, so I hit rewind and when I got to the same scene and stopped on the flash of the watch it clearly showed "Caravelle, water proof" on the dial !!! What are the ODDs???
Was I in some "alternate universe" or could this have been a set /wardrobe screw-up?

i don't think the bands are girl either...some people do..they are just different then todays bands...and the bands complete the art deco look of any period watch they are on...also it was and interesting read...the fact the people were able to wear their own watches isn't widely know...familys sent watches and items of all kinds to family in the war..
try your local jewerly store. the one hear in town has a big bucket of old bands where mostly inherated watches have been brought in, cleaned and a new not so girly band put on. the guys hear let me look thru them for 5.00 bucks each. found an old bulova rose gold i had been looking for quite a while just before xmas. it surly doesnt hurt to ask.
