Just recieved this watch yesterday. Here is the main listing pic...

A Corrigan with the original band connectors. This has a half moon and rounded shield double stamp for 1938/1939 date and the front cover holding the crystal has not been glued or soldered into place.
Now the band connector on another Corrigan I just got back from being serviced and the dial being refinished in black...
Just need to get a pair of screw posts to finish the look.

Dave that thing is AWESOME! You know how rare it is to find those extended lugs with the Doug? Wow... your the second person I know who owns one with them intact...

Looking at how nicely it turned out is making me want to get mine all redone. Very nice man.

Oh yes... that crystal bezel detaches.... be careful with that! Lose that puppy and you essentially have a parts watch until you find another to steal one from.
So essentially... with the detatchable lugs... detachable crystal bezel... front and back case.....
That thing comes in 4 pieces. How sweet is that?

I thought the band was held on with screw pins but your photos show that the caps that are on mine were on backwards, on the top of the band instead of the underside. Here I thought some owner had those capped pin sleeves made up because they lost a set of screws that went through the band.

Yeah, I have 2 others, both with the guard soldered into place. As a result when this one arived I didn't even check this case. Just noticed the cover was loose as I was typing up this entry.
This case is terrible to try to buff and polish with that guard in place.
I "hit the jackpot" one out of maybe 10 times at best, and the one success seems to be stronger in my mind than the other nine loosers...or at least five loosers and four just OK. I too use "bad pictures" for this crap shoot.... If I took the entire ten transactions and averaged what I "lost" verses what I gained, I'd just be in denial about it.....I think they call this euphorbic recall......but I call it an expensive hobby.
William, this is the true nature of us collector's. We'll take the gamble, shoot the dice and see what happens. I just recently purchased a lot of 8 watches, 4 bulova's but the creme of the bunch was a Hamilton Railroad approved electric. That single watch is worth 4x's what I paid for the lot. You just never know when your going to score, and it may not be a Bulova. I usually have to go large when I find a rarer lone Bulova because of all the snipe dogs out there. Folks know what they want and you still have to have the high bid if it's on Ebay. I still prefer scouting yard sales, pawn shops, second hand stores and estate auctions amongst other alteratives where the educated can really make some awesome finds.

I would love to go to those venues, but they are few and far apart on Oahu. There are at least three folks I kinda know who do estate sales, and they somehow get any/all the watches and jewelery before the sale is even advertised..... They know how to do the estate sales., and it's such a small world on Oahu, things don't make it to the general public unless these guys don't want them. Yard sales are fun too, but again not that great...and so I go online... I've been to all nine or ten pawn shops on Oahu, and none of these folks are buying anything but precious metals, investment grade watches, and won't touch stuff like Bulova watches...or really any watches I want or could afford. I hold out hope though...more denial, but it's fun.

Try putting a wanted to buy old watches ad in your local penny saver or whatever they call the free circular they have in Oahu, you might be suprised on the response you get and what you might score...I have a friend local here that does that and he has picked up some nice items for a good price.
You have to consider the thrill factor when you get lucky and snipe one, pick up a sleeper like Daca's or the seller takes your offer to "buy it now" because its been listed 6 of the 7 days and only has 1 or 2 low bids.
I agree with Shawn, local sources are the best finds, mainly because the cost factor and you actually get to hold it in your hand before you part with your $$$. I would guess about 70% of my keepers come from the local area.
