I have a beautiful 10k rolled gold plated ladies' watch. On the back of the case it says
Bulova L7 (at top)
T56044 (at bottom)
On the movement itself it has "5AD" & 21 Jewels. Inside the back of the case it says Bulova Fifth Ave. New York & it also has what looks like 3 rows of numbers & letters that were obviously hand-etched.
The most unique thing is the crystal. Starting from the outside (at 3 & 6), the crystal ascends to a peak that runs from the top (12) to the bottom (6).
I have not been able to identify this watch. Nor have I found any similar. I have tried to post photos to no avail.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Hi timely - L7 we know is 1957, the T56...number is a case serial that seems to have no relevance. The tapered crystal sounds interesting. The hand etched numbers are the codes of watchmakers over the years stating repairs or service they've performed. Like the sticker the garage puts on your car when they change the oil.
On the home page of the site, near the top, you'll find an e-mail address for our administrator. Send him the photo if you can't figure out the instructions on the top of the forum page that explain how to add photos. Without a couple really clear photos, it's very difficult to ID.
