1935/36 Phantom?

Submitted by DarHin on January 31, 2012 - 1:24am

Hello all. This is my first post and it's the obligatory, "What is it?" After researching here I believe that this is a Phantom. Here are the vitals.

Movement: 6AF 17j Adj

Date Code: Delta above Square?

Case #7843170

Overall Length: 37mm

Width (sans crown): 20mm

Between Lugs: 14mm

14KYG

I'm confused as to the date code having a Delta above a Square so is it a '35 or a '36? Sorry about the movement pic. I need to get a better shot of the date code.

Thanks

Darren

'PHANTOM' - agreed, and it isn't unusual to see a 'double' Date stamp on the Movement.

8 out of 10 of these Cases I have seen are worse for wear, this one looks very good.

A nice example.

Nice one, would be nice to see it in the database.

The case looks great.  Solid gold also.  A very nice and desirable watch - congrats.

Thanks. I've had it for a few years and it's still in "as found" condition. Hoping most of the gunk will come of off the dial.

As to the year, I'm guessing this was a left over '35 movement used in a '36 model case?

Should I add it to the db as a '36?

Thanks again
