Help in identifying this model, please.

Submitted by brianaus on March 22, 2012 - 8:59am

I purchased this watch at a flea market and have not been able to identify it. I neglected to write down movement, but will try to add it later.

Thank you,

Here is a picture of the back of the movement, it denotes that the movement is 8AE and it is 17 Jewel.

Impossible to say out of a Case - what You have at this point is a 17 Jewel 8AE with a Diamond enhanced Dial, not a Watch.

I am hoping someone will recognize it so that i can try to make it whole again The closest that i have seen is the 1951 photo watch, but the hour markers ard differant and the movement on that one is 8AC. Thanks

Brian,

A8 (?) stamped on the Movement indicates it was manufactured in 1948 and I recently found this

No indication of a Jewel count or an ID but the Case is marked solid 14k.

Looks like a case match to me for both watches. Nice work.

Thank you Guys, the picture and the link are as close as i have seen to the one that i have. I will try to go about the task of trying to find the correct case that goes with the movement. If you happen to know the model name of the watch, that would be helpful, but i am most grateful for the assistance so far.
