I have found a web site that sell old Saturday Evening Post magazines

I would like to know what years we are thinnest in on ads. The Post has lots of ads for Bulova. I will buy the ones we need more ID info on.

That's great JP.  I've seen several current listings for Sat.Ev.P. from the 20's-30's, but was holding out to find actual hard copy in the library.  Hawaii library doesn't have back beyond 1946.  We have ads from key Sat. Ev. Post which are poor resolution, and would benefit from new acquisition. I'll see which Years and Months need higher resolution copy and get back to you.  While we can try to get some S.E.P. from any year during the 20's-30's time frame, it may be hit or miss on Bulvoa ads.  I'd say we go for a sure thing and get the years we know have ads.  Maybe to share expense, we can coordinate our buying so we don't duplicate efforts.  I'm willing to purchase a key edition too!

Thanks for offering and bring this up.

So it looks like this unknown 1924 ad (below) was Sat Evening Post style, but not sure of Pub or month/issue.  Does anyone know if this was S.E.P. and the month/issue number? We could use this ad.

December 17th 1924 issue has at least one (probably 2-3) blurry ads which are on site.  We could use this issue (but it may have only one ad- and the other two 1924 ads may be from an unknown issue?).

Next are two ads from Sept 26th?? 1925 SEP issue which are very blurry (snip below). Don't know if there are more than two ads in this issue, and it looks like the site ads were just screen captures from online.

Then blurry 1926 which looks like Nov 13th??? Issue - one ad only (below).

and May 29th 1926 has one blurry ad on site.

While we have several good 1927 and 1928 ads on site, I would not be surprised to find Bulova had an ad in at least one weekly issue a month.  Key times of year were pre-valentines day, pre-graduation, and pre Xmas for target sales seasons.  (and of course around key events which corrispond to dedication watches e.g. Lone Eagle).

Any other folks have suggestions on SEP issues or date ranges to target?

We're really short on Ads from 1931-1935.  Look at the database and you'll see a handful for that few years stretch.

Thanks Plains  Now it's just a matter of if Bulova was advertising in Sat Ev Post as often in 31-35 as they were in earlier years.

If you need any help purchasing the ads please let me know.

My rule of thumb... Do we have it in the vintage ad database and is it a good quality image. In the answer is no to either then we want it!!!

Looking forward to getting us some more ads.
