MyBulova, Simply the Best

I just wanted to express my appreciation to Stephen/Admin for the finest and most comprehensive vintage watch community that there is.
The vast accumulation of data and the format with which it is organized and presented, along with the intelligent, thoughtful interaction of the members is, quite frankly, awesome.
Stephen should be quite proud of what his ideas and labors have provided for anyone with a desire to learn more about Bulova watches.

I can't think of any one in the bulova community who doesn't agree 100%. I can not imagine the site with out Stephen overseeing it and developing it like he does.

Thank you all.

Like I have always said I just planted the seed, it's the members that have made it grow into the wonderfully useful tool and resource that it is today.

Thank you to all the myBulova.com members for their mighty contributions!!

I'd also like to take the opportunity to say that the strength of this site and what makes it such a valuable tool when researching information about vintage Bulova's is that it combines the collective knowledge of a good number of passionate people.

We may all have our individual thoughts, opinions and theories that we often share and for me that's a good thing as it helps bring to light discussions that would normally never be had. From these collective discussions we as a entity often bring back to life a once lost story or history. Sometimes we get it wrong but a great many times we get it right. Without these collective discussions, opinions and theories we are left with only a singular point of view and worst no point of view at all.

I encourage all members of the site to maintain their right to voice their opinion and challenge those of others when it is for the good of the purpose of the site. Opinions = discussions and discussions = information.

We often get hung up on the technicalities of collecting a vintage Bully but as Plains has clearly showed us of late, we tend to overlook that special something that exists is each and every vintage Bulova....a story and history of time.

I thanks every member for their continued support of the myBulova website and look foward to reading and commenting on a great many more opinions, theories and facts.

Well said, Stephen.

I would add that expressing opinions and theories as such, rather than as fact, is extremely important to the integrity of the site.  Understanding the difference between opinion and fact is a necessary ingredient in that endeavor.  Also, very often, doing a little research before making claims of either opinion or fact would go along way toward keeping the content of the site accurate and reliable rather than merely a collection of unsupported speculations and assumptions.

It would be nice if myBulova stood out as a place to find reliable facts and history rather than merely another source of various urban myths.

Opinions typically do result in discussion, as you said, and discussion results in information.  But mere information quite often does not equal truth.  The Web is full of information, but how much of it is reliable fact or truth?  And which side of that coin does myBulova want to be on?

Yes, you may luck into some facts by throwing out mere ideas and unsupported opinions, but you rarely find the whole truth if you stop there, and you've got a very good chance of being completely wrong.
