Doubtful A17A

Submitted by randallpjenkins on June 19, 2012 - 2:10pm

I cam across an alleged A17A, but I'm pretty doubtful about it's authenticity. Just curious if anyone can help as I don't know much at all about them.

The case looks different, the bezel to crystal looks different, and the crystal doesn't seem glass (though I'm just assuming they were). It definitely doesn't have proper movement (no hack and automatic it seems).

Thanks for any of your input!

100% boogus.

The Watch design mimics the Military DTU-2A/P (3818B) which Dates to post October 1962. Bulova lost the contract to produce this piece for the U.S. Military to Benrus.

Hope this helps.

These cropped up on Ebay a while back and they have circulated around.  There is a seller in Viet Nam selling these things as military issue from the 60's.  They are fake.  Some sort of cheesy looking movement, sometimes automatic, sometimes not.  STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!
