I've searched and searched to find info on this watch to no avail. I'd love any information possible. Model name, original retail price, etc. I contacted someone from Bulova parts department but as of yet haven't heard back. Thanks for any help!
Thanks JP, I will check the database again. It actually says L9 (I just double checked with a magnifier). Sorry that the picture makes it unclear.
I know next to nothing about watches though I've learned a lot in the past few days! It really is beautiful and keeps PERFECT time. The pictures don't even do it justice. The crystal is almost flawless. There's one very small scratch that's visible to the naked eye but you'd have to search hard for it. I speak as a layman though.
Aha, so I'm not crazy! It is difficult finding it. I know I've spent a while searching the internet without results. What I find interesting is that I've gotten better response here than from Bulova themselves, lol. You guys are great! Thanks for searching, Geoff.
Gunther - over the years the Bulova brand has changed ownership a couple times. With those changes they've made other changes too. Right now they might be focusing more on their future than their past, and as long as we're holding he torch their past is in good hands. The challenge we have is that they don't have their production or advertising records from their past, or at least appear to not have them. We reconstruct their past from advertising and other ephemera. Bulova was an advertising innovator in the old days so there is a fair amount available, we just haven't found it all yet.
Yes Geoff, I too, believe they are probably focusing more on the future. If companies didn't, I suppose they would have no future. But in the same vein, I think if a company is old (as is Bulova) it's almost a responsibility to preserve the past. Really? The older I get the more I appreciate history. Whether it's a well made product, landmark, etc. I'm sure you get my drift. Fortunately for me, there are people who are willing to save the history of Bulova (and other things). If not, I certainly wouldn't be here in my quest :)
Also, I enjoy looking through the ads here. I think you're right about them being advertising innovators.
