1940 Bulova (Previously) Unknown two-toned, 21 jeweled, 10AX Movement *** UPDATED with ID***

Submitted by plainsmen on November 15, 2010 - 8:05pm

I saw one of these on an unknown watch earlier today but for some reason I can't find it again.  Late Uncle Walt's watch if I remember the poster.

Anyway.... it seems as though the case is very similar to my 1940 Surgeon.  I don't have it yet so I can't tell you it's the same yet.

It looks like one of those Ambassador's markings but this one is square.

Anyone have any idea's?

****UPDATE****

Below are the pictures of the watch I recieved.  It IS INDEED a 21 Jewel, 10 AX  Movement... unlike the others I found and posted below.  Still don't know what it is...

Found another on Ebay here... movement is stamped

* (1941), 10AX, 17 jewel

Heck I haven't recieved mine in the mail yet.  Maybe the seller misread and mines a 17 Jewel as well?  We'll see I guess.

Well Stephen.... is this a franken movement?  Is that even possible?

As William said before a 21 Jewel, 10 AX would be a first for him?  What say you about this movment?

I also have recorded 17J versions.

Hey I'm always happy to proven wrong where evidence is apparant :-)

This is the 1st 21J 10AX I've seen. Its possible that the movement is a franken but without any obvious evidence it looks to be original.
