HANDS 101

Made this 'handy' reference from an image originally produced by Bulova for a parts drawer showing the different hand styles and terminology used to describe them. Some technical data is also included on the various seconds hands. Looks to cover mid 30's - 50's. Enjoy.

Good one, Mark!
Does anyone have a reference illustration and/or chart to post, listing the correct hands to movement combos??? (For instance... I have a 1937 manufacture Rite Angle with the "8AM" movement, that needs all three gold hands replaced, due to oxidation...)

I forgot that I did obtain an original 1952 BULOVA Catalog of Interchangeable Parts, which I don't see posted here, off hand??? ABOVE are some quick pics, of the relevant hands tables:
I "uploaded" (2) of the dirty (unedited, aside crop resized and cropped) dozen photos...

Scott,
There's an interchangeability chart associating the movements, let Me see if I can find it.
ack, the movements are listed on the packs. duh
I may have another, somewhere. lol
Here it is..... I had posted it awhile ago.

Yup. Thar 'tis.
Thanks Jerin.
* Using the correct Seconds Hand with the Hour and Minute combination used is the trick and often overlooked.
No prob Mark. I found those old charts attached to a hands set (one of the old boxed ones were the hands are all in little bottles in numbered slots) I bought on ebay back in March.... it's really good info...
I just PM'ed Admin to see if he could post it up permanently on the Info-> Vintage Bulova Catalogs page so we can all have it around.
Now that's a good start!
THANKS, Mr. Falcon

I initially attempted to post all (12) pages of this stuff... (Finally figured out HOW to use the upload ensemble again, a few mins. ago... and Mark added most of the 1st 2 pages... so I just added two more, and it goes to page 112!)
The aforemented 1952 Bullova catalog, shows most (if not ALL?) pre 53ish hands, second hands and sweeps, I think? But an Excel, etc. cross- ref, chart could be made (maybe even in combo with the movements, etc.?) as a single master chart... Then the resulting "Bully Parts" related traffic draw would be quite fierce, me thinkst?!

Scott,
I'd like to get My mitts on the info You have, very nice. any chance?
I'll PM My email address.
OH???
You mean the HANDS info.? Or the crystal and model data?! WINK :-)
I think they "uploaded" to the server? If not... I can make an even BIGGER mess of your post??
BTW... this publication ALSO includes:

Hey Mark,
I just emailed the (12) pages (on Hands) to you, Jerin and Stephen...
MAYBE someone/s might have the time & energy to create some Excel based tables, for webpages!?
Best :-) Scott
I'll look into it.
