Watch Description

We recently found this watch in its original box hidden in our 1918 home.  It is 14k white gold and works perfectly.  It is indentified as belonging to the original homeowner's wife with her name handwritten on the underside of the lid.   All comments are welcome.

Beautiful watch and an interesting find.

If you are planning on running the watch at all, I strongly recommend having it completely overhauled by a qualified watchmaker. A dried out or dirty watch will damage itself if run. Dried out and dirty go hand in hand, because you can't oil a dirty watch.

thank you,   I am contacting our local jeweler today to see if he is qualified.

That's sooo sweet! Do you have the original display box as well. The box pictured appears to be the outer box. I'm thinking mid it's the model 954 as seen in the 1922 watch ad.

no, there was no other box.  Just some old tissue paper or doily that appears to have deteriorated.  The interesting thing about the box is the name written inside.  It almost appears as if it were earmarked specifically for her.  They were a prominent, wealthy couple when they built our house, and donated the land and developed the town's Country Club district.  They also donated part of the land our city college sits on.  Did Bulova make custom watches?    I have left out her actual name for privacy reasons, but it was handwritten in pencil as I have indicated

  M----------- M. T----------------, box

The comma after her name, and the word 'box' puzzled me.
