It's a decent sized stirling watch. We have a couple ads from 1923 and 1924 showing this watch. The 23 I believe says 16 jewel and mentions stirling. The 1924 is the Nurses watch and has a sweeping seconds hand but does mention stirling and 16 jewel as well.
No movement date code and a 3 digit serial number on the silver case.
The really thin wire lugs are throwing me off. Maybe it is a ladies Nurse without a seconds hand, but that case doesn't seem to have these lugs either.
These Swiss made cases, also recognised by the Swiss essay stamp, are a mystery for me. I can’t understand why Bulova would buy some cases in Switzerland and not in USA or make these themself in the American Standard factory, especially since that factory made similar cases, except they were igold filled, not silver. Could that be the reason? Unknown.
Plains, no movement date stamp found? It's possible the newspaper advert rendition took certain liberties with the band style and size. The rest of the watch sure looks to be a match.
The watch probably had a model number rather than a name, so at this stage I agree that we ID as unknown for now.

I too agree this appears to match the ads and watches we have ID'd as a Nurses watch albeit missing the center second hand and module. It is clearly missing the parts in the picture. It is possible the original wire lugs have been replaced or this could have been the way it was made. I am good with keeping the ID as a 1924 Bulova Nurses Watch.
Actually now that I look at the front and movement again, I believe the centre sweep second hand is actually missing as it the wheel that drives it and the strip that holds the wheel in place. So this watch looks to have had a centre sweep hand at one point.
Based on other IDs I'd also be comfortable grouping into the Nurse model ID.
The advert Merc posted above also states 16 Jewels, which is very rare to see in an advert and is a match for the subject watch.
Nurse watch, noting missing center sweep assembly. Based on the contact points where the wire lugs meet the bezel and the bend corners (as compared to other Nurse models in Db), I propose the lugs were replaced at some point. A strong the possibility the originals were removed and re-used cut down and re-formed?
