I believe this is double stamped with the shield.. Please check out the close up pic of the movement to clarify if I'm just seeing things!
looks like circle hand stamped later, over mvnt SN (225637? I can't make it out above). So later circle stamp would be 1934 not 1925. Do we have idea on how late movement SN's appeared on 6AF's and/or is that end date consistent between movement calibers in general? That's quite a few years btwn crecent moon and circle.
Earliest 6AF in movement database is 1929. http://www.mybulova.com/node/972
So a 1928 movement, later stamped w/ 1934 circle, in a 1928 Patricia case. What does that mean?
I don't think it's a circle. The picture is not great, but I have other watches with the circle stamp and this isn't perfectly round like those are. It looks like a poorly stamped shield (maybe that's not the right name of that stamp?) but then it would be a 1928/1929? I saw the possible double stamp on the watch when viewing it online and I had to have it... Got to love a good mystery! :)

I recently bought a magnifying glass that goes up to 15X. I'm about 99% positive that it's a poorly hand stamped shield, which would be 1929. What it means.....I got nothing.... Super cool and at the jewelers for repair/oiling none the less. Patricia is already a favorite in the collection.
Hi Blueyedpainter, I am trying to solve the mystery of the double date code. To that extend I need to know what the case signature is i.e. what is written inside the case. You have a picture or otherwise can you let me know if it says "Bulova" in combination with "New York" or "Bulova" in combination with "American Standard"? Thanks!

I sent owner a Privat Message w/ same question. Sometimes folks don't see that we have commented or made a request for more info in the thread, but they may get a notice saying they have received a private message. The link to Private Message the watch owner as at the bottom of the root record.
